PURPOSE + GOALS
• OU Fired UP students an ongoing program they can help host, shape, promote, and
sustain that doesn’t require programming like workshops or pours.
• Create a welcoming, low-pressure critique space centered on undergraduate
participation.
• Give students opportunities to hear perspectives from faculty, graduate students, and
peers they may not otherwise encounter in their classes.
• Build a stronger cross-disciplinary SoVA community around looking, talking,
questioning, and sharing works in progress.
GENERAL FORMAT
• Students may come to listen, participate in discussion, and/or present work.
• Optional sign-up for students who know they want to present, while keeping room for
more spontaneous participation.
• Undergraduate presentations remain the priority. If time runs out, remaining presenters
get first opportunity at the next evening.
• Work may include finished pieces, works in progress, ideas, experiments, questions,
material tests, or other developing projects.
GRADUATE PARTICIPATION
