Join Student Government and Organization Services (SGOS) for an interactive workshop designed to support and empower Registered Student Organization (RSO) advisors. This session will explore the vital role advisors play in student development, organizational success, and leadership growth while providing practical tools, resources, and campus connections to strengthen the advising experience.

Participants will:

  • Learn about SGOS resources and advisor support initiatives.
  • Explore the Advisor REP Model (Requirements, Expectations, and Practices) and how it can strengthen advisor engagement.
  • Gain insight into advisor responsibilities, university processes, and best practices for supporting student leaders.
  • Discuss strategies for creating accessible and inclusive student organizations in partnership with the ADA/Section 504 Office.
  • Connect with fellow advisors to share experiences, challenges, and successful advising strategies through a facilitated discussion led by Leadership & Volunteerism and Community Engagement
  • Discover new resources, toolkits, and professional development opportunities available to advisors.

Whether you are new to advising or have years of experience, this workshop offers valuable guidance, peer learning opportunities, and practical strategies to help your organization and student leaders thrive. We encourage all RSO advisors to attend and share in the conversation
