The Game Developer's Association (GDA) is a collaborative community dedicated to educating Sooners in all aspects of game development—engineering, design, narrative, sound, and visual arts—while helping students build the skills, experience, and creative confidence to design and create video games.
At our general body meetings, we break down games from multiple angles—design, engineering, sound, visual art, and narrative—to understand how great games are built from the inside out.
We also host game jams that give members the chance to experiment, collaborate, and transform bold ideas into playable projects, fostering creativity, technical skill, and hands-on experience in a high-energy, supportive environment.
We’re introducing workshops that blend presentations, discussions, and hands-on exercises, giving students opportunities to learn and experiment with game development. Recently, we launched Pixels & Pens, our narrative-focused series where the narrative committee leads discussions, case studies, creative writing sessions, and analyses of storytelling in games.
If you’re curious about game development—or just want to connect with a vibrant community of creators—we’d love for you to join us. All the ways to find GDA are linked below.
