Mission
Gaylord Ambassadors is composed of journalism and mass communication undergraduate and graduate students. The Ambassadors are involved in outreach activities on behalf of the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The Ambassadors are the “student face” of Gaylord College. As such, they are engaged in a variety of activities; from interacting with prospective students to hosting nationally known scholars, journalists, alumni and donors that visit Gaylord Hall and the University of Oklahoma campus.

The Gaylord Ambassadors have many duties, among them are: assisting the college during special functions and helping develop new college programs. They provide the student voice in communication with the college’s administration, faculty, and staff.

The mission of the Henderson Scholars Program is to provide access to higher education, educate a diverse group of scholars, and create opportunities for life-long service and learning.

The Henderson Scholars Program is a four-year scholarship program at the University of Oklahoma that supports high-achieving students through leadership development, service learning, and a strong sense of community. As OU’s first official Living Learning Community, first-year scholars live together on campus and engage in weekly cohort meetings that ease the transition to college life. With opportunities for mentorship, community engagement, and leadership within the program itself, Henderson Scholars build lasting connections, gain real-world experience, and graduate equipped to lead and serve at OU and beyond.

The JCPenney Leadership Program in the Price College of Business offers students learning experiences designed to bridge the gap between collegiate and professional lives. Our program is built and modeled upon our 6 leadership pillars. Scholarship : academics are important to the associates in the program and displays the individual discipline, drive, and focus of our leaders. Professionalism : this program is a bridge for college students to enter into the professional world, helping develop skills necessary for the work environment. Philanthropy : a good leader is sensitive to the needs of others. The leadership program provides opportunities for associates to internalize the need for and reward from participation in service. Integrity : the program emphasizes the importance of honesty, ethical behavior, and moral principles in all aspects of leadership and personal conduct. Associates are encouraged to consistently act with integrity, ensuring that their actions reflect the values and standards of the program, fostering trust and respect in both personal and professional environments. Fellowship : the leadership program continuously seeks to expand interaction between the associates, alumni, leaders, and members of local and state business communities, as well as faculty and staff of the OU Price College of Business. Community : have a basic understanding of other cultures and an openness towards them, allowing students to adapt effectively in the global business environment. Upon completion of the program, students will have demonstrated that they: Gained awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement Increased their knowledge and understanding of what makes a great leader Understand the responsibilities of the leadership role Gained direct experience as a leader Increased capacities and confidence in a variety of soft-skill areas Understand the significance of networking and establishing relationships Internalized the importance of philanthropy

OU LEAD Team is a peer Leadership Education And Development team. LEAD Team students serve as facilitators of icebreakers and teambuilding exercises and as ambassadors for the Office of Leadership and Volunteerism.

The OU Cousins program was created in 1996 by the OU President as a way of developing understanding, friendship, and unity among U.S., international, and exchange students at the University of Oklahoma. Through this program, students are matched according to hobbies, majors, and countries of special interest. Each International or exchange student is matched with one or two American students and invited to participate in monthly events (majority that are free of charge). In addition, students are encouraged to get together outside of official Cousins events and share their respective cultures with one another through normal daily life.

Mission
President’s Community Scholars was established approximately seventeen years ago shortly after President David L. Boren arrived to the University of Oklahoma campus. There was a strong need for student scholars who wanted to make a difference in the campus and Norman community. Therefore, the president established a community scholar’s program scholarship that enabled students with resources and support; helping them pave the way making a difference serving others. Administrated by the office of Leadership Development and Volunteerism, a branch of Student Affairs, helps provide PCS with the best possible experience for students through service locally, through the state, and society. Our vision is to assist emerging students by engaging them with resources in key note speakers, PCS upper-classmen as mentors, leadership experiences, and committing them to service in our communities. PCS brings together the service needs of the area to our committed students, by presenting programs, panels, and seminars that highlight the role of society needs within OU, leadership, and the community. Through PCS, students engage in outreach activities, participate in a fall and spring retreat, and attend our weekly gatherings. PCS hopes to provide a spirit of oneness and a commitment to continue to develop and serve Oklahoma!

The President's Leadership Class was created in 1961 to encourage outstanding Oklahoma high school students to remain in the state for their college careers. Today, 59 years later, the University of Oklahoma's President's Leadership Class attracts students from across the country and has been recognized as one of the nation's top freshman leadership programs. Members of the Class are hand-selected from more than 12,000 applicants to become a part of this tight-knit community of 125 student leaders.
